Summary:
The Recreation Manager shall implement and maintain the Community Recreational Program to support all morale welfare and recreation events and activities described in this section of the PWS.
The Manager shall provide Recreational Services that includes the Community Recreational Program (includes Alcohol and Resale Activities). The Recreation Manager shall provide program planning and execution, labor management and supervision of contract labor to meet all requirements and support the mission of the 380 EFSS within the scope of this PWS.
The Recreation Manager shall arrange special events including live bands, shows, Armed Forces Entertainment, game shows, theme nights, and other similar events. The Recreation Manager shall pick up entertainers and support staff arriving at Abu Dhabi or Dubai (as applicable) airports and transport them to the base utilizing Government vehicles if available.
Responsibilities will include:
- Oversee 24/7 recreational program.
- The Contractor shall arrange special events including live bands, shows, Armed Forces Entertainment, game shows, bazaar, theme nights, and other similar events
- Set up additional resale and bar operations for special events (estimated 50-60 events per year
- Create and submit a tentative quarterly (3 month) planning calendar to be provided to the COR
- Assist with coordinating all arriving entertainer schedules and needs inclusive of lodging, host nation requirements, set-up and teardown.
- Maintain a recreational program ensuring a monthly total of 36-40 events are offered inclusive of a day event and a night event.
- Be knowledgeable of all regulations and rules of play regarding any weekly recreational activity or tournament hosted.
- Ensure that all alcohol sales are tracked and strictly enforce alcohol limitations IAW AFCENT and 380 AEW alcohol policies
- Shall be responsible and liable for securing all funds IAW AFIs to include currency, eagle cash, credit card transactions, checks, coupons, gift cards and vouchers
- Identify supply requirements and prepare necessary documentation for purchase.
- Assist with other facilities or departments as needed to ensure mission success.
- Monitor all OCN staff associated with the department and if needed other departments
Essential Job Functions:
- Inventory, administrative functions, item checkout and check-in, stock returns, tracking overdue notice items and issuing overdue notices for all assets.
- The Recreation shall ensure that personnel assigned to all tasks have the requisite knowledge and skills to meet minimum performance requirements and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- The Recreation Manager shall document all training by name, training and date and make these records available to the COR or designated representative upon request.
- Communicate equipment performance expectations to suppliers including quality, performance, manufacturing, capacity, system fit and life cycle costs.
- Creation and posting of notices for all new items.
- Clean, straighten, and maintain the facility and equipment within.
- Maintain a reservation schedule for the TCO and other functions.
- Assist with other facilities or departments as needed to ensure mission success.
- Monitor all OCN/LN staff’s performance and provide the necessary training to perform the assigned duties to meet the customers’ requirements.
- Other duties in support of the mission as assigned by Site Manager and/or Assistant Site Manager.
Knowledge:
Hospitality and services management industry as well as aseptic cleaning procedures. Military protocol and correspondence. Air Force Instructions for procurement, lodging, NAF resale and property procedures. Air Force Support (SVS) experience is not required but highly desirable.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- At least 2 years of experience developing graphics for marketing, publicity and/or advertising using Microsoft and other related programs.
- Knowledge of regulations and rules of play regarding any weekly recreational activity or tournament hosted.
- DRAM Shop Training and Food & Beverage Handler’s Course Certificate
- Experience monitoring and managing both USN and OCN staff associated with the department and if needed other departments.
Mandatory Requirements :
- USN and have at a minimum of 5 years’ experience in supervising and managing DoD recreation or club management operations or eight (8) years of comparable civilian experience.
- Intermediate to expert level of all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Education
High school diploma or GED.
Security Clearance: Must have and maintain an U.S. Secret Clearance.
