The Service Manager required to oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our Heavy Vehicle transport fleet and managing workshop operations, ensuring vehicle efficiency, and leading a team of technicians to maintain high safety and performance standards.
Key Tasks:
- Oversee daily workshop activities, maintenance and repairs of Heavy vehicles.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for trucks, buses, and other fleet vehicles.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with safety regulations and company standards.
- Manage and lead a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
- Assign tasks, provide training, and monitor staff performance.
- Ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues in fleet vehicles.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Maintain records of vehicle service history and repairs.
- Monitor workshop expenses and optimize cost-effective repair solutions.
- Manage and process warranty claims for vehicle repairs and follow up with manufacturers or suppliers.
- Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability and reducing waste.
- Negotiate with suppliers for quality parts at competitive prices.
- Ensure workshop operations comply with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety among workshop staff.
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a service management role, preferably in a transport or logistics company
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair procedures, and workshop management systems
- Ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth operations
- Quick decision-making skills for resolving technical issues and workflow challenges
- Proficiency in maintenance management software
- Iveco dealerships experience desirable
