The Store Keeper is responsible for efficiently managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and recordkeeping of materials, tools, and equipment at the project site or central store. The role ensures accurate inventory control, safe storage, and timely availability of items required for uninterrupted site operations.
Key Responsibilities: Material Handling & Inventory Management
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials as per delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Maintain proper inventory levels through accurate bin cards or ERP/software systems.
- Ensure that materials are correctly labeled, categorized, and stored in designated locations.
- Conduct periodic physical stock checks and reconcile with system records.
Issuance & Requisition Management
- Issue materials to site teams against approved Material Requisition Slips (MRS).
- Maintain proper records for all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Coordinate with procurement for stock replenishment and material shortages.
- Monitor daily consumption and inform engineers of any overuse or discrepancies.
Tools & Equipment Management
- Keep track of tools and equipment issued to staff and ensure their return in good condition.
- Schedule maintenance or calibration as required.
- Maintain a register/logbook for tools and machinery movements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain and update inventory logs, GRNs (Goods Received Notes), MRS, and other documentation.
- Submit daily/weekly material reports to the site engineer or procurement team.
- Ensure all material receipts and issues are supported by proper documentation and approvals.
Storage & Safety
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and stacking of materials.
- Comply with safety, fire prevention, and housekeeping standards within the store area.
- Dispose of damaged or expired materials with proper approval.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma in Store Management or Logistics is a plus.
- Minimum 2–4 years experience in construction/storekeeping or warehouse management.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and tools.
- Familiar with inventory software (ERP, MS Excel, etc.).
- Strong recordkeeping and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required.
- Attention to detail and responsibility.
Other Requirements:
- Familiarity with UAE construction materials and supplier practices (preferred).
- Must be reliable, honest, and punctual.
- Ability to work at site locations under varying conditions.
