Teaching Assistant: Full-time Position - Fall 2025
The School of Engineering and Computing at the American University of Ras Al-Khaimah is inviting skilled applicants for the position of Teaching Assistant in the program of Architecture in the department of Architecture and Civil Engineering. This position is competitive to begin working enthusiastically with students of architecture in Fall 2025 by September 2025.
The successful candidate will have:
- An undergraduate / Bachelor Degree (B.Arch. or equivalent) in Architecture or Architectural Engineering in the design and digital architecture field from an accredited university.
- Fully experienced in architectural design and application of digital software including tools such as Plotters, 3D-Printers and Laser Cutter along with software packages to tutor architectural students and work with them on their Fundamental Basic and Advanced Projects and Computational Architectural Design Studios. Able to work with software packages such as AutoCAD Architecture, 3D Studio MAX and advanced software packages including, Autodesk / Revit Architecture/Autodesk Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Parametric Architecture Design Studio, Computer Visualizations, Drafting Modeling and Rendering, and other media for production and presentation works.
- Willing to tutor and work with beginner and senior students in both Digital and Hand-skill Workshops.
- Knowledge in preparing student digital portfolios.
- Proficiency in teaching design studios and to work closely with students (in groups and one-on-one cases), students advising abilities at the same time to provide service to the department, school, university and community.
- Proven experience in professional practice of Architecture including working on major real-life projects.
- Willingness to assist the department faculty members in preparing and assessing student work.
