Job Purpose: JOB PURPOSE Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Manager relating to the function of medical services for a smooth and efficient day to day running of the department. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES LINKED TO OBJECTIVE AREAS Generic 1. Liaise and co-ordinate with the HR Shared Services team with regards to onboarding and Medical Benefits eligibility for employees and their dependant, where applicable. 2. Respond and communicate effectively to queries from various internal and external stakeholders with regards to the current medical benefits policy. The information requires recording and proper dissemination of information to provide an acceptable service level in line with the published terms and conditions and contractual operating procedures. 3. Administer online databases in line with published terms and respective data privacy regulations. Specific to Customer Support 4. Investigate, co-ordinate and escalate where required, any complaints received from internal or external stakeholders on medical service delivery issues and medical benefit related issues. 5. Produce and issue standard letters relating to member insurance and service provider correspondence. 6. Provide consistent and accurate customer service to eligible members over email or telephone, managing queries within the agreed turnaround times using published resources to maintain quality. Specific to Pre-Approval 7. Prior approval for medical treatment – Review all medical reports, referrals and treatment plans to check if covered as per the policy terms and conditions. 8. Responsible for the provision of accurate approval authorisations and guidance to our contracted medical providers. 9. Communicate with members and providers in relation to pre-approval status and terms. Manage emergency telephone approvals and responsible for confirming cover based on individual’s medical history, medical reports and treatment plans.
Qualifications & Experience: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Qualifications: Specific to Pre-Approval Nursing, Pharmacy or equivalent medical related field Experience: 4+ years relevant work experience in a medical insurance field Knowledge/skills: - Experience in any or some of the following areas - Medical claims processing and pre-approval / Nursing / Pharmacy / Medical billing etc. - Excellent written and spoken English - Proficient in using Word, Excel and PowerPoint
