What you will be doing

We are looking for an Intelligence Executive to join our Intelligence team at Chalhoub Group! Your passion for transforming data into insights, as well as keen interest for the luxury fashion and beauty industry along with great research skills will be critical to your success in the role.

The role reports to the Head of Intelligence and you will be working with cross-functional teams across the group as well as our partners in the industry to build insights for the fashion and beauty verticals. Scope of the work will be focused, but not limited to fashion and beauty verticals, covering GCC and potentially other international markets. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and passionate person to join our team.

Local and regional market/ category assessment

  • Develop estimates and market sizing for regional and local market in variety of verticals: beauty, fashion, retail, and potentially new categories
  • Analysing performance and providing insights of the market working with Chalhoub franchise brands, joint ventures, distribution and external & internal partners;
  • Developing market and category insights based on desktop research as well as market visits and industry interviews;
  • Developing market presentations, extracting key problematics and insights for both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Maintaining a relationship of trust with our internal and external partners for market insights and data sharing.

Market analysis and consumer studies

  • Observing and reporting on beauty, fashion and retail market results and trends in the GCC and Globally.
  • Conducting research to support selected Group initiatives such as new market studies, benchmarking;
  • Tracking industry reports and developing context for the GCC region
  • In collaboration with consumer research agencies and/or internal Chalhoub panels develop deep dives into consumer sentiment towards the beauty and fashion industries in the GCC

Supporting Industry Intelligence team and developing new tools

  • In collaboration with the Intelligence team members, scout and implement new industry intelligence tools and integrate it into team deliverables;
  • Ensuring department efficiency by supporting team’s on-going projects as well as recommending new tools & methodologies for data analysis. Particularly supporting BI development of the on-going projects.
  • Supporting the team with the on-going requests for the overall market and category deep-dives, markets assessment, and adjacent industries.


What you'll need to succeed

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Statistic
  • A minimum of two to three years of relevant experience
  • Creative, motivated, curious and proactive profil
  • Be a team player, analytical, curious, with good presentation skills, and flexible mindset
  • Data driven profile, comfortable with analyzing the data and translating it into insights;
  • Strong ability to work with variety of complex data through Excel and PowerBI, Tableau tools.
  • Prior business analytics experience is a must;
  • Strong research skills, being able to connect the dots using variety data sources: industry reports, research tools, companies financial reports, trends forecasting tools;
  • Sensitivity towards and basic understanding of the luxury, beauty, retail industries;
  • Creating and delivering presentations for the outcomes of research and analysis;
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders including senior leadership teams;
  • Previous experience in consumer research
  • French speaker would be a plus
