Assistant Buyer – Beauty, Personal Care, Apparel & Accessories, you will be responsible for planning and controlling the area's sales through its purchases of high-quality merchandise at the most advantageous price, in order to meet and maintain merchandising standards and sales and profit objectives.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Buyer in identifying and evaluating high-quality local (UAE) and international suppliers, with a focus on beauty, personal care, apparel, and accessories, ensuring optimal pricing and quality.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships, lead local negotiations (payment terms, return policies, etc.), and reduce procurement costs.
- Adapt product selections provided by the China buyer team to align with local market preferences (e.g., Halal-compliant beauty formulations).
- Analyze UAE consumer trends and submit regular competitor reports for beauty/personal care and apparel/accessories.
- Participate in product selection meetings with the China team, providing localization recommendations.
- Place re-orders as applicable in consultation with buyers and communicate relevant information to all relevant parties in planning and supply chain.
- Maintain an accurate database of vendor agreements and forward completed vendor agreements to Merchandise Planning.
- Liaise with marketing to prepare promotional events for the season promotion.
- Work with merchandising and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Analyze weekly sales and action all necessary transfers, reorders, and stock swaps. Consolidate buying feedback reports and provide buyers with reports and recommendations per brand portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, or other related fields.
- 5+ years of proven experience as assistant buyer in a retail environment (Beauty, Personal Care, Apparel & Accessories) any of it is must.
- Ability to identify priorities and organize and plan activities to ensure proper and timely.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
