Key Responsibilities:
- Cut, debone, and trim different types of meat using knives and cutting equipment.
- Prepare meat portions based on customer requests (mincing, slicing, cubing, etc.).
- Ensure meat displays are attractive, fresh, and properly labeled.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with daily inventory management.
- Follow proper storage, handling, and hygiene procedures (chilling, freezing, FIFO).
- Maintain cleanliness of butchery tools, cutting boards, counters, and cold storage.
- Comply with food safety standards and health regulations at all times.
- Reduce wastage through proper trimming, portioning, and storage.
- Assist customers politely and handle special cutting or preparation requests.
- Report any quality or equipment issues to the supervisor immediately.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a butcher or meat cutter (preferably in supermarket or retail).
- Good knowledge of different types and cuts of meat.
- Skilled in using knives, saws, and other butchery equipment.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
- Physically fit and able to work in cold environments.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
