The Commis II is responsible for preparing and cooking food under the supervision of senior kitchen staff. The role supports the culinary team in maintaining high standards of hygiene, preparation, and presentation of food items in line with the kitchen’s quality and portion standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in your section.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented in accordance with set recipes and standards.
- Handle basic cooking duties such as cutting, peeling, and portioning ingredients.
- Work closely with Commis I and Chef de Partie to learn and improve culinary skills.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements.
- Support in receiving and storing kitchen supplies appropriately.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the chef on duty.
- Practice proper handling of kitchen equipment and utensils.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a professional kitchen or similar environment.
- Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Culinary diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field.
