Job Summary :

Assist the Chef de Partie in the daily operations and act as the station lead in their absence, working closely with the Sous Chef to manage all responsibilities. Ensure the efficient and seamless execution of food production within the designated station while maintaining high standards in line with the chef’s expectations. Perform all daily tasks consistently to meet both departmental and brand quality standards. Responsibilities also include basic mise en place preparation, maintaining a clean-as-you-go approach, proper storage and labeling of all food items, and basic cooking of ingredients prior to service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with the setup and presentation of the daily buffet in accordance with established standards.

Collect and organize all requisitioned items from dry stores, produce, dairy, meat, and seafood as per outlet or section requirements.

Participate in daily mise en place preparation as instructed by the Chef de Partie or section in charge.

Set up the preparation area with necessary equipment, tools, and ingredients, ensuring readiness for service.

Execute tasks as assigned by the Line Manager, maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the work area at all times, ensuring proper handling and use of kitchen equipment, chillers, and freezers.

Follow a punctual and flexible work schedule to meet operational demands.

Ensure proper organization, labeling, and storage of all food items in designated chillers and freezers, in line with food safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Culinary Certificate with a minimum of 3 years of study

High School diploma or equivalent

Vocational diploma or relevant certificate

Certifications:

HACCP Basic

Food Hygiene Basic

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a property of comparable rating

Computer Skills:

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Language Skills:

Basic English communication skills, both written and verbal
