Job Summary
We are looking for a technically sound and highly detail-oriented Inventory / Cost Accountant to oversee inventory valuation, cost analysis, and production reporting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tracking inventory movements, ensuring accurate costing of materials, and analyzing manufacturing variances. This is a vital position that connects production, stores, and finance to ensure profitability analysis.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CMA qualification is a plus
- 2–5 years of UAE experience in costing and inventory accounting
- Solid understanding of inventory valuation methods (FIFO, weighted average, etc.)
- Working knowledge of standard costing and variance analysis
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and MS Excel
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and costing flows
- Able to reconcile stock ledgers and investigate variances
- Familiarity with stock audits and documentation controls
- Strong attention to accuracy and detail in all entries
- Proactive approach to identifying and correcting process gaps
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile inventory records across warehouses and ERP
- Monitor material usage, wastage, and costing of production batches
- Calculate and analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and inventory movement
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end stock takes and reporting
- Prepare production costing reports and identify variances
- Work with production and store teams to validate raw material consumption
- Ensure timely valuation of WIP and finished goods inventory
- Support pricing strategies with accurate cost data
- Help prepare audit schedules related to stock and COGS
- Recommend improvements in cost accounting systems and controls
