- Binding and securing loads to cranes
- Inspecting machinery and equipment to make sure they function properly
- Following safety guidelines and protocols
- Maintaining a maintenance and activity log of items moved
- Supporting other crane operators as necessary
- Performing basic repairs to defective equipment
- Reviewing a daily schedule and following specific instructions for loading items
