Profile Summary-:
The Credit Controller is responsible for managing the company's credit control function, ensuring timely collection of payments from customers and minimizing bad debt risks. This involves evaluating creditworthiness of new and existing customers, setting credit terms, managing overdue accounts, and maintaining positive customer relationships.
Debt Management:
Manage and collect debts from company debtors, ensuring timely payments and minimizing outstanding balances
Analyse monthly aged debtor reports and identify critical accounts requiring further attention
Monitor critical customer accounts for late payments and initiate appropriate collection actions, such as sending reminders, making phone calls, and negotiating payment plans
Manage the Credit control policies
Escalate accounts to collection agencies or initiate legal proceedings after following internal escalation protocols
Customer Relation:
- Maintain positive relationships with customers while effectively managing credit risk.
- Visit the customers to build connections and push the collection process
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status.
- Resolve customer disputes and issues related to outstanding invoices or payments
- Liaise with the sales team to ensure smooth credit management for new orders
Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regular reports to management on the status of debtors, bad debt provision, and credit control performance.
- Prepare report with DSO, Bad Debt Rate and Collection Rate
Additional Responsibilities:
Identify collection agencies which can push for collection without legal proceedings
Provide support during the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
Support Manager in preparation of any other Analysis Report for decision making
Qualifications:-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field .
Additional Qualifications-: Driving License holders preferred.
Skills-:
Strong Bookkeeping knowledge
Be able to work independently and use their own initiative to learn
Excellent knowledge of Excel
Proven experience as a Credit Controller
Having a UAE Driving License (to visit customers independently)
Have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with different levels of staff
