Role Purpose:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead the Emiratization Agenda within International Wealth & Premier Banking (IWPB). This is a 24-month fixed-term role based in Head Office, focused on The Banks strategic commitment to national talent development. The incumbent will be instrumental in helping the bank reconfigure its operating model to prioritize local capabilities by restructuring key operational functions by bringing previously offshored roles back onshore and contribute to the UAE’s vision for a sustainable and empowered workforce. The role offers exposure at the highest levels and a chance to drive tangible, lasting impact. This role will support the Emiratization agenda for IWPB across the UAE including HSBC Tower and branches.
- Drive the execution of the IWPB Emiratization Agenda, ensuring full alignment with the strategy and national objectives.
- Lead the transition of offshored roles back onshore, designing a structure that supports Emirati resourcing.
- Develop, manage, and track project plans, timelines, risk logs, and status reporting.
- Partner with key stakeholders across HR, Operations, Compliance, and Talent Acquisition to enable seamless implementation.
- Build and deliver governance packs and reporting dashboards for executive leadership and steering committees.
- Identify and manage risks, interdependencies, and blockers across multiple functions.
- Support the Talent and Emiratization teams in developing tailored recruitment, onboarding, and upskilling strategies for Emirati hires.
- Lead the programme of strategic change
- Understand country priorities as well as the Regulatory requirements and challenges or risks of the market in relation to the programme.
- Key interface with Market and Global transformation.
- The role holder will be required to work closely with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels, across numerous functions and be comfortable with matrix and cross functional management
- Key contact point within IWPB with local & regional delivery partners and teams (HR, technology, operations, etc.)
- Maintain excellent working relationships across the business.
- Proactively engage and coordinate activities where duplication or cross over may exist.
- Work effectively with leadership teams to ensure timely and accurate submissions for reporting.
- Influence greater team communication and collaboration.
- Work collaboratively across all parts of IWPB and DBS functions.
- Provide the Subject Matter expertise across all aspects of area and responsibility.
- Role model the HSBC values as a leader within the WPB Business
- Continuously reassess the operational risks associated with the role
- Adhere to internal controls, procedures and policies
- Graduation degree is REQUIRED– to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in project/programme management in banking or large-scale organizational change.
- A UAE National with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Strong experience with onshoring, workforce transition, or Emiratisation programmes.
- Familiarity with UAE labour laws, Emiratisation policies, and talent frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives with senior stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical, planning, and presentation skills; experience in reporting to senior governance forums.
- PMP, Prince2, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and to interface with Executive Leadership
- Able to retain high energy through difficult transformation projects
- Attention to detail along with ability to work across multiple tasks
- High level of proficiency in Power Point and Excel
- Strong competence in writing reports and making presentations
- A positive attitude with the ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
- Conscientious, with a keen eye for detail and a strong focus on accuracy and quality
- Outstanding planning and organisation skills – dealing with multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure
