The Yacht Engine Operator is responsible for daily technical operations, preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with UAE maritime and safety regulations.
Job Descriptions
- Operate, monitor, and maintain all yacht propulsion engines, generators, fuel systems, bilge pumps, air-conditioning, and other mechanical systems.
- Perform daily engine room checks, oil and coolant level inspections, and log all technical readings and issues.
- Record and maintain logs for engine performance, fuel usage, and maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to engine operation in a timely manner.
- Ensure the engine room and technical areas are always clean, safe, and organized.
- Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and maritime regulations.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults or report them to the Chief Engineer or Captain for further action.
- Contribute to the vessel’s overall safety by following best practices and adhering to environmental standards.
Job Requirements
- Marine Engineering certification or equivalent qualification.
- Basic STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in operating and maintaining marine engines
- Basic knowledge of engine operation, mechanical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic marine environment.
- Willingness to work in shifts as required.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
