Job Summary:
The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily fabrication activities, ensuring production targets are met with optimal efficiency and quality. The role requires leadership in managing shop-floor personnel, coordinating with the production planning team, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring timely completion of jobs as per design specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of fabrication workers, welders, machine operators, and helpers.
- Ensure daily production targets are achieved while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Review fabrication drawings, job orders, and work schedules to determine work priorities.
- Ensure efficient utilization of raw materials, machines, and manpower.
- Monitor performance and provide guidance and training to shop-floor staff.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Maintain inventory of tools, consumables, and raw materials needed for fabrication.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and ensure safety compliance at all times.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC department for inspections and non-conformity resolution.
- Prepare and submit daily and weekly production reports to management.
- Recommend and implement process improvements for productivity and cost-efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in metal fabrication, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes including cutting, bending, welding, punching, and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication machinery and tools.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
