About the Role:
The Cleaner plays a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within our medical clinic. This position is essential for maintaining high health standards to prevent infections and provide a welcoming, sanitary space for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
General Cleaning:
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, waiting areas, exam rooms, offices, and shared spaces
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, ensuring all areas are free of dust, dirt, and debris
- Empty trash bins, replace liners, and properly dispose of waste, including biohazard materials
Sanitization and Infection Control:
- Disinfect high-touch areas, including door handles, light switches, countertops, and medical equipment
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors, and restock supplies as needed
- Follow infection control protocols and use cleaning agents suitable for medical settings
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow health and safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Safely store and handle cleaning supplies and chemicals, ensuring they are secure and away from patients
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, or safety concerns to the Facilities Manager or Clinic Administrator
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior cleaning experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical setting, with knowledge of infection control and medical-grade cleaning products
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high cleanliness standards, ability to work independently, and good communication skills
