Key Reponsibilities:
- Assist in routine foot care procedures, including:
- Washing, drying, and moisturizing feet
- Trimming and filing non-pathological toenails
- Checking for signs of infection, pressure areas, or skin/nail abnormalities
- Support clients in understanding basic foot hygiene and care practices
- Prepare and maintain a clean, safe working environment (sterilize tools, clean stations, etc.)
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and observations
- Report any abnormalities or foot health concerns to supervising clinician
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols
- Assist with the fitting of footwear, orthotics, or foot care products as directed
- Provide foot care education and support to clients in clinics, homes, or community settings
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Foot Care Assistant course or equivalent training (preferred or required depending on location)
- Background as a Healthcare Assistant, Personal Support Worker (PSW), or Nursing Aide is an asset
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Knowledge of basic foot anatomy and common foot conditions
- Experience working with seniors, diabetics, or individuals with limited mobility (preferred)
