Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, strong-willed Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of French bistro cuisine, complemented by the ability to integrate international elements that cater to a cosmopolitan palate. This role demands a balance of creative menu development, efficient kitchen management, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This site is extremely busy and will suit an energetic and experienced candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and excellence in food preparation and presentation.
Develop innovative menus that reflect modern Parisian cuisine with global influences, aligning with seasonal availability and customer preferences.
Oversee inventory management, including sourcing high-quality ingredients, cost control, and minimizing waste.
Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
Collaborate with management on budgeting, forecasting, and achieving financial targets related to the culinary department.
Stay abreast of industry trends, incorporating new techniques and concepts to enhance the dining experience.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within a high-end or boutique dining establishment.
- Formal culinary training with a strong foundation in French cooking techniques.
- Proven track record of menu innovation and successful kitchen management.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in inventory and cost management systems.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and food quality.
- Able to work under extreme pressure
