Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Officer to join our facilities Management team. The role is focused on ensuring a safe working environment for all staff, contractors, and visitors by developing safety policies, conducting inspections, leading training, and ensuring compliance with local and international safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
✓ Assist the Operations Manager in planning and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with UAE regulations and international standards.
✓ Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards → recommend corrective actions.
✓ Monitor and evaluate health and safety risks → ensure risk assessments and control measures are updated.
✓ Investigate incidents and near-misses → prepare reports → implement preventative measures.
✓ Lead safety training and awareness programs for technicians, staff, and contractors.
✓ Ensure safety equipment (fire extinguishers, PPE, alarms, emergency exits) is regularly checked and maintained.
✓ Coordinate and conduct emergency response drills (fire, evacuation, etc.).
✓ Maintain accurate safety records → inspections, incident reports, compliance documentation.
✓ Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections → ensure timely resolution of findings.
✓ Support operations by advising on ergonomics, safe equipment usage, and work procedures.
Qualifications:
✓ Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
✓ Safety certification (NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA) is highly preferred.
✓ 2–3 years of relevant safety experience, preferably within Facilities Management or similar environments.
Skills & Competencies:
✓ Strong knowledge of UAE health & safety legislation and best practices.
✓ Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
✓ Analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment mindset.
✓ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
✓ Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
✓ Familiarity with safety management software is a plus.
Working Conditions:
✓ Based on-site at client facilities.
✓ Must be able to conduct site walks/inspections, sometimes in challenging conditions.
✓ Flexibility required for occasional evening/weekend audits or emergency response.
