The Joinery Factory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on the shop floor to ensure the efficient and high-quality production of joinery and woodwork products. The role includes supervising workers, managing workflow, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of joinery production staff, including carpenters, machine operators, and helpers.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely delivery of joinery works as per project requirements.
- Ensure all work is carried out according to technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Allocate work, provide technical guidance, and train team members as needed.
- Inspect incoming materials and finished products to ensure quality control.
- Monitor machinery usage and ensure regular maintenance and minimal downtime.
- Enforce health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Report daily production output, material usage, and any delays or issues to management.
- Coordinate with procurement and store departments for materials availability.
- Troubleshoot production problems and recommend process improvements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in joinery production, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking machines, tools, and joinery techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical documents.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with quality and safety standards in joinery manufacturing.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Carpentry, Wood Technology, or related field.
- Experience working in a fit-out or bespoke furniture manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software is a plus.
