Occupational Therapist (OT)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in a special education setting. The OT will work with students aged 0 to 18 years who have a range of physical, developmental and sensory challenges. The role involves supporting students to develop functional independence and meaningful participation in school life through individualized, evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct standardized functional and sensory assessments to identify students’ strengths and barriers to participation.
- Prepare assessment reports
- Use standardized and formal assessment tools to guide goal setting and intervention planning.
- Design and deliver therapy to support development in areas such as fine/gross motor skills, self-care, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and executive functioning.
- Implement individual and group sessions focused on independence and engagement in school-related tasks.
- Provide recommendations for assistive devices, seating/positioning systems, and sensory regulation tools.
- Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, speech and language therapists, and families.
Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- DOH license
- Knowledge of sensory integration, neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., autism, ADHD), and motor skill development.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
