Role Description
The Manager – Invoicing will lead the end-to-end billing process for project-based telecom subcontracting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual, tax, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong collaboration with Project Management, Operations, and Finance teams to align invoicing with project milestones, optimise cash flow, and minimise disputes. The ideal candidate will possess solid technical knowledge in revenue recognition, ERP systems, and telecom project billing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the complete client invoicing cycle for project-based telecom contracts.
- Review and verify billing data, project completion reports, and cost allocations in coordination with Project Managers and Site Engineers.
- Prepare progress payment applications, variation claims, and retention invoices in line with contractual terms.
- Ensure invoicing accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local VAT, withholding tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate invoicing records and reconcile with Accounts Receivable ledgers.
- Liaise with Credit Control to support timely collections and resolve payment disputes.
- Develop, implement, and improve invoicing SOPs to enhance process efficiency and reduce error rates.
- Generate monthly invoicing performance reports and present to senior management.
- Provide guidance and support to invoicing staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards and deadlines.
Requirements
Education & Professional Qualification:
- Part-qualified ACCA / CA Inter / M.Com (Accounting & Finance).
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or related field.
- ERP systems knowledge (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in invoicing, billing, or accounts receivable, preferably in a project-based telecom subcontracting or construction industry.
- Proven experience in milestone-based billing, revenue recognition, and contract compliance.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of VAT, withholding tax, and relevant financial regulations.
- Advanced MS Excel skills; proficiency in financial software and ERP platforms.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
