Enterprise Technology
WHERE YOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
The Enterprise Technology/Vector Program Management team are the front line of Bain’s best place to work aspiration and maintain accountability for the group’s talent results. Building on day-to-day activities to establish well-balanced teams, this role is instrumental in retaining and developing our people, helping define and maintain our culture, and continuously improve to deliver a positive experience for the group.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Staffing (30%):
- Make balanced & effective staffing decisions collaborating with case OVP/LT
- Enter staffing into the BOSS system
- Manage staffing post-mortem feedback collection at case end
- Provide input to Regional and Global Talent Leadership on staffing process and systems improvements
Case start-up and delivery (25%):
- Proactively schedule case kick-off discussions between the general consulting and Vector leadership teams on how to most effectively work together on the specific case archetype, driving inclusion and better results for our teams and clients
- Be available as first point of contact for talent questions from the team
- Monitor case team survey data to ensure all Vector team members are having a rewarding experience
- Along with supervisor, intervene in cases where there are concerns or when CTSU scores are low, including meeting with case leadership to address any issues
- Coordinate with local office general consulting program managers where any broader interventions and action plans are needed, and escalate to Global Talent Leadership when unresolved
Professional development (30%):
- Conduct regular PD check-ins with guild members for progression discussions and career advice
- Raise and retention concerns with PDAs as necessary
- Identify performance improvement cases, and work with HR business partners on communications and plans
- Trigger, launch, track, collect and quality control case end reviews
- Follow-up on outstanding reviews and raise to regional talent lead
- Prepare data and documentation for ratings calibration sessions ahead of PD review cycle for assigned guilds
- Identify candidates for global training programs and liaise with Vector Learning and development team
- Provide input to Learning and Development team on curriculum development based on an overarching view of cohort needs, aggregated from staffing/reviews/PD conversations/misc. feedback
Connectivity, onboarding and integration (15%):
- Complete recommendations for PDA and Buddy pairings and inform of their roles/responsibilities during onboarding
- Manage a clear onboarding process for each new hire (incl. local office onboarding coordination and pre-XCT program attendance)
- Support team culture and connectedness within each market and across region for each guild and across Vector
- Support regional/global townhall needs
- Support guild/practice leaders with connectivity – raising issues as they surface
- Actively work to engage with regional and local office PM community (both other ECD PMs as well as generalist PMs) to drive connection and push for ECD inclusion initiatives
- Be a continuous advocate for improving the employee experience and be open to opportunities to improve
ABOUT YOU
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Current or recent Bain consulting experience at the consultant level or in program management, or the equivalent at another consulting company
- 4+ years work experience
- Collaborative – someone who knows how to work with and through others to drive results and make change happen, and is customer service oriented
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and productive - someone who knows how to prioritize what needs to be done and rallies colleagues to get things accomplished; “roll up the sleeves” type of attitude
- Insightful – strong problem-solving skills and pragmatic, with a practical, “real-world” sense of what is actually “do-able”. Possesses an affinity for data-driven insights to make decisions, and able to harness knowledge and expertise of the best content to support the Practice
- Articulate and compelling in his/her oral and written communication skills; engaging and concise – with interpersonal “presence”; adaptable across executive, technical and Bain audiences
- Energetic, with drive, enthusiasm, and natural skills in relationship development – ability to develop an extensive network of relevant relationships both internally and externally, as required
- Inspirational Leadership - track record of successfully managing high-performing team members, motivating and developing colleagues above and below their own tenure
