Job Title: MEP Store In-Charge / Store Keeper

Job Summary:
The MEP Store In-Charge / Store Keeper is responsible for the effective management of the MEP materials store, including the receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of all MEP-related materials, tools, and equipment at the project site or warehouse. The role ensures inventory accuracy, proper documentation, and timely availability of materials to support smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:1. Material Receipt and Inspection
- Receive and inspect incoming MEP materials, tools, and equipment as per the purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Verify the quantity and quality of materials received against invoices and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team for material inspection and approval.
2. Storage and Inventory Management
- Ensure proper storage of materials to avoid damage, deterioration, or loss.
- Maintain optimal stock levels of commonly used items.
- Classify and label materials properly for easy identification and retrieval.
3. Issuance and Record-Keeping
- Issue materials to concerned departments or site personnel based on Material Request Forms (MRFs).
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.
- Use manual registers or ERP/store management software to track inventory.
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain store documents such as delivery notes, GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), MIVs (Material Issue Vouchers), stock registers, etc.
- Provide daily/weekly/monthly stock reports to management or the procurement team.
- Assist in periodic audits and stock verifications.
5. Coordination
- Coordinate with the procurement team for timely reordering of materials.
- Liaise with site engineers and supervisors for material forecasting and availability.
6. Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with safety standards for storage and handling of materials.
- Implement and follow site-specific store handling procedures.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Diploma / Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Store Keeper or Store In-Charge in an MEP or construction project environment.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of MEP materials, fittings, equipment, and tools.
- Familiarity with storekeeping procedures and documentation.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, ERP systems).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
Preferred Certifications:
- Safety training certifications (like OSHA, NEBOSH) are a plus.
- ERP/Inventory Management training.
