Job Purpose:
To provide expert diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine services to patients, utilizing advanced imaging and radionuclide techniques in alignment with international standards. The Consultant will ensure optimal patient outcomes while adhering to SEHA's quality, safety, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and interpret diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures (e.g., PET-CT, SPECT, bone scans, cardiac scans, thyroid scans).
Provide radionuclide therapy (e.g., I-131 therapy, Lu-177 DOTATATE, Ra-223).
Supervise and ensure quality assurance in radiopharmaceutical preparation and imaging protocols.
Collaborate with referring physicians to discuss case findings, diagnosis, and treatment options.
Oversee technologists, residents, and other junior medical staff, ensuring best practices in nuclear medicine procedures.
Maintain up-to-date records, reports, and documentation in the hospital’s health information system.
Participate in continuous professional development, teaching, and clinical research as part of SEHA’s academic initiatives.
Ensure radiation safety standards are strictly followed by staff and patients.
Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to comprehensive patient management.
Adhere to SEHA’s policies, protocols, and clinical governance framework.
Minimum Qualifications:
Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
Residency and fellowship in Nuclear Medicine from a recognized training program.
Board Certification in Nuclear Medicine (e.g., CCT UK, ABNM, FRCR with Nuclear Medicine specialization, or equivalent).
Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) Consultant License in Nuclear Medicine or eligibility to obtain it.
