Nauru Medical Centre is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Nurse to join our surgical team. In this vital role, you will assist in the preparation, execution, and post-operative care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. You’ll work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and fellow nursing staff to ensure a safe and efficient operating environment.
Location: Nauru
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgery
- Assist during surgical procedures as a scrub or circulating nurse
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and surgical status
- Maintain sterile techniques and ensure proper infection control
- Provide post-operative care and documentation
- Support surgical team to deliver excellent patient outcomes
Key Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with current practicing certificate
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a perioperative or surgical nursing role
- Operating Room/Theatre experience essential
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay calm under pressure
- BLS/ACLS certification (preferred or required, depending on region)
