In preparation, we have initiated the process of reviewing, shortlisting, and interviewing potential candidates to ensure readiness. Upon confirmation of the project being awarded, we will begin mobilizing the selected candidates to commence project execution.
Job Purpose
The Package Manager - Distribution will oversee the multiple Lots within the Water Transmission Scheme. The scope includes multiple pump stations, distribution pipelines, valve houses, storage reservoirs and distribution networks to rural areas. The role will include planning, scheduling, budgeting, progress and coordination of resources and preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual progress report.
This is a PMC role, and the Package Manager will be responsible for overseeing and execution of their Lots engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) operations for large-scale water transmission projects in Abu Dhabi. There will be multiple Supervision Consultants and EPC`s appointed directly by the Client. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to meet project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of the assigned Projects under the programme.
- Manage the delivery of the Lots within the scope for the project, ensuring the integration and alignment of all project activities with the strategic objectives of the EMPLOYER.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, supervision consultants, contractors, vendors and regulatory authorities ensuring consistency and collaboration alignment and compliance with project specifications and regulations.
- Oversee the development and implementation of project plans, schedules, and budgets relevant to their assigned projects.
- Coordinate daily with the SUPERVISION CONSULTANT and DELIVERY CONTRACTORS to address design, execution, and compliance challenges.
- Oversee contractor performance, resolving conflicts and facilitating approvals.
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary to address any deviations from the project plan.
- Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management and the client, detailing progress, challenges and solutions, commercial status, risks etc.
- Ensure effective risk management strategies are in place to mitigate potential project risks and issues.
- Collaborate with the technical team to review engineering designs, ensuring constructability and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure the program meets time, cost, quality, and safety targets while maintaining compliance with all contractual requirements.
- Guide and mentor project team members, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Foster strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders to maintain project support and mitigate any concerns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 15+ years of experience in projects, specifically in large water distribution programmes. At least 5 years in GCC region
- Proven PMC experience in a similar role on programmes with a similar scope – 5 years’ experience
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and regulatory requirements for water transmission.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and resource management.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project).
Soft Skills
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
