Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Communications Officer and Parent Relations Executive to lead our school's comprehensive communication strategy and strengthen community partnerships. This senior role combines strategic communications management with dedicated parent engagement initiatives, serving as a critical bridge between our educational institution and the families we serve.
The successful candidate will drive institutional messaging, manage stakeholder relationships, and foster an environment of transparent, effective communication that supports our educational mission and enhances community cohesion.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies aligned with institutional objectives and educational excellence standards
- Oversee multi-channel communication platforms including digital media, print publications, website content, and institutional correspondence
- Create compelling content that effectively communicates student achievements, academic programs, and institutional initiatives
- Collaborate with academic leadership and administrative teams to ensure consistent, timely, and accurate information dissemination
- Lead crisis communication protocols and reputation management initiatives
- Analyze communication effectiveness through data-driven metrics and provide strategic recommendations for continuous improvement
Parent Relations & Community Engagement
- Serve as primary liaison between families and school administration, facilitating productive dialogue and relationship building
- Design and implement parent engagement programs that strengthen school-family partnerships
- Address parent inquiries and concerns with professionalism, ensuring timely resolution and satisfaction
- Coordinate parent education sessions, orientation programs, and community events
- Develop culturally sensitive communication approaches that respect diverse family backgrounds and preferences
- Maintain comprehensive parent communication databases and feedback systems
- Foster collaborative relationships between parents, faculty, and administration
Event Management & Community Outreach
- Plan and execute high-quality school events, including academic celebrations, community gatherings, and institutional ceremonies
- Coordinate external community partnerships and public relations initiatives
- Manage institutional presence at community events and educational forums
- Oversee logistics for parent-teacher conferences, school board meetings, and special presentations
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Education, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum 1 year of progressive experience in institutional communications, preferably in educational settings
- Demonstrated experience in parent relations or community engagement roles
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful communication strategies
Core Competencies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in Arabic highly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in digital communication platforms, social media management, and content management systems
- Strong project management capabilities with ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience with crisis communication and reputation management
- Knowledge of educational sector dynamics and regulatory requirements
