Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Powder Coating Plant Supervisor to oversee all operations within our powder coating section. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of production, adherence to SMCI’s quality standards, and implementation of safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of pre-treatment, coating, curing, and final inspection processes specific to our industry and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of SMCI’s powder coating line, including chromate and phosphate pre-treatment, electrostatic powder application, and curing ovens.
- Assign tasks and deploy manpower efficiently across the coating line, ensuring optimal productivity and minimal downtime.
- Ensure all finished goods meet SMCI’s strict quality control standards and customer specifications.
- Monitor and maintain proper functioning of equipment such as spray booths, reclaim systems, conveyor lines, and ovens.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager to plan job sequences based on daily production schedules.
- Conduct visual and thickness inspections to verify coating uniformity and adhesion.
- Maintain accurate logs for production, material usage, powder consumption, and rework.
- Lead and mentor powder coating staff, conducting periodic skill training and safety briefings.
- Ensure adherence to HSE policies and regulatory compliance, with particular attention to safe handling of chemicals and powders.
- Identify and resolve process inefficiencies and implement improvements for cost reduction and better throughput.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a powder coating facility, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in operating and maintaining automatic and manual powder coating systems.
- Strong understanding of RAL color systems, surface preparation standards (e.g. SA 2.5, ISO 8501), and coating thickness measurements (DFT/MFT).
- Ability to read technical drawings, job orders, and customer specifications.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems and environmental/safety standards.
- Strong team leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Arabic and/or English proficiency (written and spoken) is essential.
Work Environment:
- Based in our industrial facility in Sharjah.
- Exposure to high-temperature ovens, powder particles, and heavy equipment.
- Use of PPE is mandatory.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends or overtime as needed.

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
