The PR & Marketing Communications Assistant plays a key role in shaping the brand’s voice across the region by supporting our PR and marketing efforts. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in PR and storytelling, eager to grow within a fast-paced, event-led organization. From crafting media narratives to supporting campaigns, launches, and on-ground events — you’ll help us make noise that matters.
Key Responsibilities
PR & Storytelling
- Support the execution of BBW’s MENA PR strategies, in line with brand tone and event roadmap.
- Assist in creating compelling narratives, press releases, talking points, and toolkits around brand moments, book events, community stories, partnerships and global movements.
- Maintain regular contact with media, content creators, and key partners to pitch stories, manage interviews, and build sustained brand visibility.
Editorial & Content Support
- Contribute to the editorial calendar in coordination with global and regional teams, ensuring timely distribution of brand news across traditional and digital channels.
- Identify local cultural hooks, trends, or milestones to build brand-relevant angles and pitch opportunities.
- Assist with writing for newsletters, event content, speaker briefs, and branded storytelling assets.
Media & Influencer Relations
- Build and maintain press, influencer, and partner lists for the region.
- Coordinate media invitations, influencer collaborations, content kits, and seeding programs for key events.
- Support talent liaison, on-site media management, and content capture at BBW events and activations.
Events Support
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to support PR logistics at book fairs, community events and launches, including media walkthroughs, press junkets, and influencer tours.
- Facilitate product (book) placements, customer interviews, and stakeholder engagements across owned and earned media.
Tracking & Admin
- Monitor media coverage and assist in compiling post-campaign/event reports, analyzing reach, tone, and ROI.
- Manage PR inventory, gifting protocols, and dispatch processes.
- Process vendor payments and ensure timely coordination with finance and agency partners.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years in PR, Marketing Communications, or related fields; experience in events or publishing is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing.
- Strong storytelling skills — written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills; thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to multitask across campaigns, timelines, and collaborators.
- Familiarity with regional media landscape and influencer ecosystem.
- Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is a must.
- A love for books, ideas, and cultural conversations.
