Job Title: Project Manager – Power Projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the client in all project-related activities, ensuring design, procurement, and construction meet quality, safety, and contractual standards.
- Oversee the review of engineering designs, technical submittals, and contractor deliverables.
- Manage the project from the consultancy side, coordinating with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure timely progress and compliance.
- Monitor and report on schedule, budget, risks, and overall project performance.
- Provide expert advice on technical matters, design coordination, and construction methodologies.
- Review and validate contractor claims, change orders, progress payments, and contractual correspondence.
- Facilitate coordination between different technical disciplines (civil, electrical, mechanical) involved in overhead lines, substations, and power generation systems.
- Participate in project audits, risk assessments, and strategic planning sessions.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, compliant, and properly archived.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
- PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing power infrastructure projects in a consultancy role.
- Strong understanding of international standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.) and transmission/distribution engineering practices.
- Experience working with EPC contract or similar contract forms.
- Proven track record in delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects in the power sector.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
- Familiar with project management tools and reporting platforms (Primavera, MS Project).
