Position Overview:
We are looking for a Purchase Officer(Automotive Parts) to join our team. The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring spare parts and accessories for vehicles. This role ensures that the company maintains optimal inventory levels while securing high-quality products at the best prices. The purchaser will work closely with suppliers, warehouse teams, and the sales/service department to meet business needs efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Sourcing:
- Identify and source vehicle spare parts from reliable suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on price, quality, and delivery time.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Build and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.
2. Inventory & Stock Management:
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and overstocking.
- Coordinate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure timely availability of parts.
- Conduct regular market research to source alternative products when necessary.
- Forecast demand based on sales trends and service requirements.
3. Order Processing & Logistics:
- Prepare purchase orders and follow up on deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations when sourcing internationally.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to track shipments and resolve delivery issues.
- Verify and inspect received goods to ensure quality and accuracy.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting:
- Maintain procurement records and track expenses to stay within budget.
- Analyze cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
- Work with finance to process payments and resolve discrepancies.
5. Vendor & Compliance Management:
- Ensure suppliers meet industry standards and company requirements.
- Handle warranty claims and defective parts with suppliers.
- Keep updated with market trends, new products, and pricing changes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in procurement, preferably in the automotive spare parts industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle components and spare parts.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP procurement systems.
- Ability to analyze market trends and supplier performance.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Languages: English is required; additional languages are a plus.
