Vehicle Operation and Safety
- Operate a concrete mixer truck safely in various traffic and weather conditions.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
Concrete Delivery
- Transport ready-mix concrete from the batch plant to the construction site.
- Maintain proper slump (consistency) of concrete during transit.
- Safely maneuver truck at job sites, often on uneven or challenging terrain.
Equipment Maintenance
- Clean truck and mixer drum daily to prevent buildup.
- Report mechanical issues or needed repairs.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are clean, functional, and stored properly.
Customer Service
- Interact professionally with customers and site personnel.
- Follow instructions given by the site foreman or dispatchers.
- Provide excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction.
Record Keeping and Reporting
- Accurately complete delivery tickets, time logs, and inspection reports.
- Document any delays, issues, or site conditions affecting delivery.
Compliance and Safety
- Follow all company safety protocols.
- Wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
- Attend safety meetings and training as required.
Additional Expectations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, or overtime.
- Physical strength and stamina to climb ladders, lift chutes, and operate heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of concrete properties and delivery best practices is a plus.
