- Responsible for identifying and qualifying both domestic and international leads that match the company’s agro product portfolio. This includes reaching out to potential buyers and suppliers through trade directories, online platforms, exhibitions, and business networks, ensuring alignment with company trading capabilities.
- Continuously gather and analyze market information for agro commodities relevant to the company. This includes price trends, seasonal availability, demand forecasts, and supply fluctuations to inform sales and procurement strategies effectively
- Complete sales process from lead engagement to deal closure. This involves product pitching, price negotiation, order finalization, and post-deal coordination, ensuring every transaction is handled professionally and efficiently.
- The role involves working across a wide basket of agro products, including fresh fruits and vegetables (e.g., coconuts, bananas, onions), grains and pulses (e.g., basmati rice, chickpeas, moong dal), spices (e.g., turmeric, black pepper, cumin), and meat & poultry (e.g., frozen chicken, mutton, value-added meats). The consultant must understand the trading requirements for each category.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and distributors is a priority. The consultant should ensure regular communication, timely updates, and personalized support to promote long-term client loyalty and recurring business opportunities.
- Coordinate with key suppliers, exporters, and sourcing agents to ensure product availability, quality consistency, and timely shipments. This includes working closely with internal logistics and procurement teams to execute orders without disruption.
- This role requires a strong grasp of trade documentation and export regulations. The consultant must oversee the preparation and verification of PIs, contracts, packing lists, phytosanitary/health certificates, certificates of origin, and other documents as per import/export norms in target markets.
- Proactively explore new markets and distribution channels. This includes identifying emerging product demands, participating in trade fairs, and proposing new partnerships that can expand the company’s agro trading footprint.
- All activities, leads, deal progress, and client interactions must be accurately recorded in the company’s CRM system. Weekly sales reports must be submitted to the Reporting Manager, summarizing pipeline activity, competitor feedback, and market movement.
- The consultant must collaborate with logistics, finance, quality control, and other internal teams to ensure smooth execution of deals. Timely coordination and proactive problem-solving across departments are essential for successful order completion and client satisfaction.
