Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Costs: Calculate the materials, labor, transport, and equipment needed for scaffold erection and dismantling.
- Read Blueprints: Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to determine scaffold requirements.
- Site Visits: Inspect job sites to understand site conditions, access issues, and determine accurate scaffold needs.
- Prepare Quotes/Tenders: Develop detailed cost proposals or bids for clients and contractors.
- Material Take-Offs: List all scaffolding components required for each project (tubes, boards, fittings, etc.).
- Client Liaison: Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements and negotiate pricing when necessary.
- Risk Assessment: Identify safety risks and factor in safety measures in the estimate.
- Cost Control: Work with project managers to monitor actual costs vs. estimated costs.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of scaffolding systems and configurations (e.g., tube and fitting, modular systems).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Experience with estimating software or spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Bluebeam, AutoCAD).
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in construction or scaffolding industry (usually 3+ years).
