Job Purpose:
The Senior Supervisor - Landscape is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of landscaping activities across assigned communities within Dubai Holding Community Management. This role ensures the high-quality maintenance, aesthetic appeal, and sustainability of all landscaped areas, leading a team of landscape technicians and workers, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Oversight & Execution:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily tasks of landscape teams, ensuring efficient execution of all landscaping activities, including planting, irrigation, pruning, weeding, pest control, and general garden maintenance.
- Develop and implement daily/weekly work schedules and assignments for the landscape team.
- Ensure all landscaping work is carried out according to established standards, specifications, and project plans.
2. Quality Control & Standards Adherence:
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess the quality of landscape work, plant health, and overall aesthetic presentation of assigned areas.
- Identify and address any deficiencies, ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly to meet DHCM's quality benchmarks.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of all landscaping equipment and tools.
3. Team Leadership & Development:
- Provide direct supervision, guidance, and training to landscape technicians and workers.
- Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to enhance skills and productivity.
- Foster a positive and safe working environment for the landscape team.
4. Resource Management:
- Monitor and manage the inventory of landscaping materials, tools, and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
- Assist in preparing resource requirements for various landscaping projects and routine maintenance.
5. Irrigation System Management:
- Oversee the operation, monitoring, and minor maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure optimal water usage and plant health.
- Report any major irrigation system malfunctions to the relevant department or contractor.
6. Communication & Reporting:
- Liaise effectively with the Community Manager, Facilities Management team, and other relevant stakeholders regarding landscaping progress, issues, and requirements.
- Prepare regular reports on landscaping activities, team performance, incidents, and material usage.
- Document any incidents, damages, or significant issues related to landscaped areas.
7. Contractor Coordination:
- Assist in supervising third-party landscaping contractors, ensuring their work aligns with contractual agreements and quality expectations.
- Report any non-compliance or performance issues of contractors to the Manager.
8. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with DHCM’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Policy, governance framework, and standards by conducting all tasks according to HSE procedures, attending mandatory training, actively reporting hazards, near misses, or incidents, and utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as identified in risk assessments.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:
- Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a Diploma or Certification in Horticulture, Landscaping, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in landscape maintenance and supervision, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience in managing landscape teams in large-scale residential or commercial communities.
- Strong knowledge of plant species suitable for the UAE climate, irrigation systems, pest control, and general landscaping techniques.
- Valid UAE driving license is often required.
