About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef to join Main Kitchen in Jumeirah Al Qasr. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
- Supervise kitchen staff and maintain cooking standards.
- Help plan menus, create and test recipes, and attend daily meetings with Executive Sous Chef.
- Write accurate product specifications and standard recipes for system and material management use.
- Plan weekly staff rosters, monitor daily adjustments, and manage overtime, holidays, and absenteeism.
- Liaise with Chief Steward to maintain kitchen cleanliness and support smooth kitchen operations by optimizing resources.
- Coordinate training, motivate the team, cook as needed, and maintain Madinat Jumeirah quality standards.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- UAE National with a Family Book as per government requirements.
- Two years of experience in the same role in a 5-star luxury property or a standalone/branded restaurant.
- Diploma in Catering required; Health & Safety certification preferred.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Opera PMS (Cloud) and HotSoS.
