Job Description:
We’re seeking a precise and proactive Structural Draftsman to join our consultancy team in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience producing high-quality structural drawings and detailing for a variety of building and infrastructure projects, working closely with engineers to translate design concepts into accurate technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- 2D & 3D Drafting:
- Create detailed structural drawings—including foundation plans, column/beam layouts, slab plans, and footing details—using AutoCAD and/or Revit Structure.
- Generate reinforcement detailing, bar bending schedules (BBS), and connection details for concrete and steel structures.
- Technical Documentation:
- Prepare shop drawings, section views, and isometric details for structural components.
- Maintain drawing revision control and document management per consultancy QA/QC standards.
- Coordination & Collaboration:
- Liaise with structural engineers to clarify design intent and incorporate their revisions accurately.
- Coordinate drawings with architectural, MEP, and civil disciplines to ensure clash-free integration.
- Participate in project review meetings and provide technical input on drafting feasibility.
- Quality Assurance:
- Review and cross-check drawings for dimensional accuracy, compliance with design codes, and adherence to company standards.
- Ensure all drawings conform to relevant UAE codes (e.g., DM, Sharjah Municipality) and international standards (e.g., ACI, BS EN).
- Site Support:
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify structural dimensions and support resolution of drafting-related queries.
- Update drawings based on site conditions and as-built changes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Structural Draftsman within a consultancy environment, ideally in Sharjah or the Northern Emirates.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D; experience with Revit Structure is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of structural engineering principles, reinforcement detailing, and steel connection detailing.
- Knowledge of UAE structural codes and international standards (ACI, BS EN).
- Excellent attention to detail, spatial visualization, and time-management skills.
- Strong communication abilities and a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to join immediately and travel to project sites as required.
