Job Purpose:
The Structural Draughtsman will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed structural drawings for construction projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, building codes, and project specifications. The role involves working closely with structural engineers, architects, and site teams to produce high-quality drawings that support the execution of structural works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, sections, and reinforcement detailing using AutoCAD or other CAD software.
- Draft structural layouts for foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and other building elements.
- Ensure all drawings comply with engineering standards, project specifications, and local regulations.
- Coordinate with structural engineers and other draughtsmen to resolve design or technical issues.
- Revise and update drawings based on engineering changes, site instructions, or design modifications.
- Prepare bar bending schedules (BBS) from approved structural drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of all drawings, revisions, and approvals.
- Support site teams with technical drawings during execution phases.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers for incorporating product details into drawings.
- Ensure timely delivery of drawings to meet project schedules.
