Title and Summary
Vice President, Product Management - Mastercard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS) Role and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for MPGS in the Division and will form a vital link with the MPGS organization. Will be responsible for leading the MPGS team in MEA and, in conjunction with the MasterCard account and market development managers, in identifying opportunities to leverage specific MPGS products, to grow the customer and MasterCard’s revenues, while meeting strategic product objectives at the Divisional level.
The MPGS Division Lead serves as senior level contributor in expanding upon current capabilities to improve existing services, particularly in response to regional region trends.
Key Accountabilities of the Role
- Lead a team of Product Sales Specialists in his/her Division, covering each of the product areas (Payment Gateway, Fraud screening and value adding services ) focusing on the key strategic Division objectives with principal emphasis on driving sales, revenue and profitability generation, and product expertise
- Develop a strong understanding of customer needs, customers’ product strategy, region conditions, and industry characteristics as they relate to products and platforms offerings
- Serve as senior level contributor in expanding upon current capabilities to improve existing services, particularly in response to regional trends
- Lead the team in developing MasterCard’s product strategy for his/her Division as well as with each customer in close coordination with the account teams emphasizing penetration and growth in the region
- Pro-active identification, business case development and prioritization of product initiatives that drive the customer and MasterCard revenues.
- As part of the MPGS leadership team, develop business plans and provide Divisional specific input into product roadmaps
- Communication and coordination with the product development teams to highlight product innovation opportunities emerging within customers, region and among consumers.
- Active participation in the customer planning process led by the account teams
- Coordination with regional implementation support to ensure customers’ implementation needs are met.
- Hold self and team accountable for meeting key metrics (in particular MPGS revenue, customer sign-ups, sales pipeline, etc.).
- Provide the Group Head with regular updates on the region’s activities and results
- Support the Group Head in recruiting, team building, coaching/developing staff and addressing performance issues, as needed
Profile, Key Requirements and Competencies
- University degree with strong experience in a business development role in the merchant acquiring and or commerce payments industry.
- Deep knowledge of e/m-commerce products and their value to customers
- Proven Leadership in driving business objectives in a matrix environment. Liaise with Senior Management in MasterCard (in Markets/Division/ P1S) to ensure that region strategies and activities are integrated with other parts of the business and align with overall objectives
- Experience with development of strategic business planning. Contribute to business planning at Product Management level to develop the MPGS strategy for the region aligned with Global P&S in Europe.
