About the Role:
We are currently seeking a meticulous and proactive Assets Controller to join our Finance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, tracking, and optimizing all company assets, ensuring proper documentation, accurate records, and compliance with internal policies and external audit standards. This role plays a vital part in minimizing asset losses and maximizing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:1. Asset Management & Tracking
- Maintain accurate records of all company assets including equipment, vehicles, and fixed property.
- Conduct regular asset verification and physical inspections across departments.
- Tag and document assets with unique identification numbers for traceability.
2. Asset Utilization & Maintenance
- Monitor usage and ensure proper allocation and utilization of assets.
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams for regular servicing and upkeep.
- Prevent asset misuse and ensure optimal deployment across business units.
3. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain and update asset depreciation schedules and ensure correct accounting entries.
- Generate monthly and annual reports on asset status for financial review.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, financial standards, and audit regulations.
4. Procurement & Disposal Coordination
- Support asset procurement processes by validating purchase requests.
- Evaluate and recommend disposal of non-functional or obsolete assets.
- Handle documentation for asset transfers, write-offs, and disposals.
5. Risk Management & Loss Prevention
- Identify potential risks related to asset mismanagement and propose corrective actions.
- Investigate lost, stolen, or damaged assets and submit detailed reports to management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in asset control, preferably within catering, hospitality, or service-based industries.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in asset management systems and accounting software (preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
