Commercial and Contracts Manager
Responsible to oversee and manage contracts within our diverse portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) or real-estate industry, coupled with excellent negotiation skills and a deep understanding of contract management processes. This role will ensure compliance with contractual obligations while fostering positive relationships with consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
Key Accountabilities:
· Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, including consultancy agreements and construction contracts.
· Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, legal standards, and project requirements.
· Monitor compliance with contractual terms, obligations, and milestones by all parties involved.
· Administer variations, claims, and extensions of time in accordance with the contract terms.
· Prepare tender documents for the construction works
· Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring potential liabilities are minimized
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FIDIC and local construction laws
· Liaise with legal, commercial, and project teams to ensure alignment of contract terms with project goals
· Maintain accurate records of contract documents, correspondences, and amendments
Qualifications, Experiences, Core Competencies
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
· Additional qualifications in contract law or quantity surveying (e.g., RICS, CIArb, or equivalent) are preferred.
· Minimum 10 years of experience in Real Estate Development or Construction, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.
· Proficiency in contract drafting, interpretation, and negotiation.
· Proven experience with FIDIC 1999/2017 standard forms of contract
· Strong background in claims preparation, evaluation, and defense
· Exposure to variation management, EOT, and cost claims
· Strong knowledge of local laws governing real estate projects
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
