Key Responsibilities:
- Customs Documentation: Prepare and process all necessary documentation required for customs clearance of shipments, including but not limited to, bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, packing lists, and customs declarations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with UAE customs regulations, Free Zone rules, and other international trade laws, such as tariffs, import/export restrictions, and trade agreements.
- Coordination: Liaise with customs authorities, shipping agents, freight forwarders, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure timely clearance of goods.
- JAFZA Processes: Have a deep understanding of JAFZA-specific regulations and procedures for handling customs within the Free Zone, including Free Zone-to-Free Zone transfers and imports/exports to and from JAFZA.
- Cargo Clearance: Coordinate cargo inspections and handling, ensure goods are cleared and released in a timely manner, and address any issues that may arise during customs inspections.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customs transactions, including import/export documentation, customs clearance status, and related reports.
- Problem Solving: Address any discrepancies or delays in customs clearance, working closely with customs authorities to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
- Communication: Provide clients with regular updates on the status of their shipments and customs clearance processes, while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Education: A diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, international trade, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in customs clearing or logistics within a Free Zone environment, preferably in JAFZA.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of UAE customs laws, JAFZA regulations, and international shipping documentation. Knowledge of Dubai Trade portal,Dubai Chamber,MOFA Attestation and customs clearance systems is essential.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Languages: Proficiency in English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic and/or other regional languages is an advantage.
- Certifications: Any certification in customs regulations or logistics management would be an added advantage.
