Job Summary:
The Fabrication Manager oversees and coordinates all activities related to the fabrication process, including planning, scheduling, manpower allocation, quality control, and safety compliance. They ensure timely and cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality fabricated components in alignment with project requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the fabrication team including welders, fitters, CNC operators, and other shop floor staff.
- Interpret and review fabrication drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Plan and monitor daily and weekly production schedules based on project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, safety regulations, and internal quality standards.
- Oversee material usage and inventory; coordinate with procurement for timely material supply.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of fabrication equipment and machinery.
- Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and QA/QC teams to resolve production issues.
- Conduct performance evaluations, training, and skill development of fabrication staff.
- Monitor KPIs such as productivity, rejection rate, and delivery accuracy.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving strategies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in metal fabrication or related field, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques (welding, cutting, bending, etc.).
- Familiarity with materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.
- Hands-on experience with industry standards (ASME, AWS, ISO).
- Proficiency in production planning tools and ERP systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- UAE/GCC experience preferred.
- Knowledge of local safety and quality standards (Dubai Municipality, ADNOC, etc.)
- Arabic or Hindi language skills are a plus.
