Role Overview:
As a Junior Furniture Designer, you will support our lead designers in conceptualizing, prototyping, and developing bespoke furniture pieces. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their design career who wants hands-on experience in a dynamic, design-led studio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating initial sketches, 3D models, and technical drawings
- Collaborate with senior designers on new product development and custom projects
- Prepare mood boards, material palettes, and design presentations
- Work closely with production teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility
- Conduct market and trend research to contribute fresh ideas
- Participate in client meetings to understand project briefs and requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Product Design, or a related field
- Strong skills in SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD, Fusion 360 or similar 3D modeling and rendering tools
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Illustrator)
- A good eye for proportion, detail, and materials
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines
- Passion for furniture, design innovation, and craftsmanship
- Portfolio showcasing academic or freelance furniture work is a must
