Role Purpose:
The Marble Polisher is responsible for the restoration, polishing, maintenance, and protection of all marble and stone surfaces across F&B areas, including dining tables, service counters, host stations, bar tops, and wall marbles. The role ensures surfaces are kept clean, hygienic, and visually appealing in accordance with brand and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Maintenance & Polishing
- Clean, polish, hone, and restore marble and granite surfaces using both hand
tools and machine polishers (single disc, orbital, and wet polishing
machines).
- Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, stains, cracks, or dull spots on
all stone surfaces.
- Remove etching, scratches, watermarks, and stains using approved polishing
agents and abrasive techniques.
- Apply sealants and impregnators to protect surfaces against moisture, oil,
and stains, especially in food handling zones.
- Maintaining, polishing and repairing stones like terrazzo, quartz, or synthetic
stone as required.
Hygiene & Food Safety Compliance
- Ensure all polishing work is carried out using food-grade materials where
applicable and without contaminating food preparation or service areas.
- Coordinate with kitchen and operations teams to schedule work during nonpeak hours to prevent disruption or contamination.
- Use barriers and protective coverings to prevent dust or slurry from spreading
into dining or kitchen zones.
Repairs and Restoration
- Perform small crack filling, edge touch-ups, and chip repairs using colormatched epoxy or resin fillers.
- Sand and refinish high-wear areas (buffet stations, serving tops) without
altering stone integrity.
- Address and report any structural defects or loose stone fixtures to the
maintenance supervisor.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to safety protocols when handling chemicals, tools, and equipment,
ensuring compliance with workplace safety laws
- Report any non-compliance issues or risks to management and assist in
ensuring that corrective actions are taken
Tool and Equipment Management
- Operate and maintain polishing machines, vacuum systems, and other
related tools in safe working condition.
- Clean and store tools properly after every shift and perform basic preventive
maintenance.
- Ensure all equipment is labeled and used per manufacturer guidelines.
Recordkeeping & Reporting
- Maintain accurate logs of polishing activities, surface conditions, chemicals
used, and machine maintenance.
- Report damaged, worn-out, or unsafe surfaces that require replacement or
professional restoration.
- Track consumption of consumable
