Primary Objective:
• To manage and ensure HSSEQ compliance for assigned vessels in accordance with internal and external demands and to ensure HSSEQ KPI’s and performance standards are achieved and maintained.
Major Activities/Deliverables:
• Provide interface between MCV and Group management on HSSEQ issues
• Act as HSSE representative for client meetings, authority liaison and external forums
• Provide clear leadership to the safety team to ensure all members are delivering relevant, effective support & value to internal functions and external parties.
• Ensure individual HSSE team members are providing visible, positive examples to effectively drive the Company’s safety culture and HSE performance
• Set & monitor annual KPI’s that will enhance team members’ performances, whilst mutually supporting Group and Regional targets
• Actively partake in shore- and vessel-based safety meetings, to encourage constructive discussion and drive management engagement
• Induct current and new employees and crew on company HSSEQ policies and procedures
• Ensure the Company’s Safety Culture is promoted and maintained to the highest possible standards, in all locations, through.
• Active engagement with all employees on HSE-related issues
• Promote open dialogue between all employees and departments on means to drive and improve
• Participate in & provide input to HSE-related meetings and inspections
• Actively promote the application of all Company Control of Work processes and safe working practices
• Deliver against Company’s Self-Verification Program (SVP) that supports achievement of Group KPI’s, delivers additional local value and ensures continual improvement
• Ensure Regional monthly performance data is collated effectively, is accurate and is submitted on-time to the Group HSSEQ department
• In conjunction with Group analysis and reports on performance data, ensure local analysis and actions are undertaken and implemented
• Identify trends within local performance and implement effective measures to correct or enhance these trends, as necessary
• Where required, ensure data submitted to Clients is effectively collated & submitted on time, to accurately reflect relevant performance criteria
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must have Professional Qualification or Certification in QHSSE related field
• NEBOSH preferred
• DPA and CSO qualification preferred
Minimum Experience :
• Must have 5 years’ experience in the development and implementation of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental programs preferably dealing with offshore supply vessels.
• Must have experience interacting with clients on HSE matters and building HSE culture.
• Experienced Mariner preferred.
Job-Specific Skills:
• Internal auditor for ISO 45001:2018, 14001:2015 9001:2015 and OHSAS 18001 standards
• Experienced incident investigator leader
• Dealing with, and understanding needs of, various statutory external bodies; Class, Flag Port State etc.
• Must have good working knowledge of ISM and ISPS codes, other standards (MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, ISO, OHSAS, etc.) and statutory regulations relating to vessel operations.
• Experience of interfacing with clients and meeting their demands in relation to implementation and management of HSE-specific aspects
• Strong, clear communication skills particularly in regard to maintenance of HSE standards
