The purpose of this position is to oversee and manage all aspects of the OCC operations for the Dubai TRAM.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic
- Monitor service delivery and manage OCC personnel and resources.
- Advise the Operations Director of problems relating to service delivery matters in a proactive and timely manner.
- Plan and deliver succession and development plans within the department.
- Develop and review Procedures, instructions, improvements that benefit the delivery of Train Service on Dubai TRAM.
- Lead the OCC Chief Controllers to be able to effectively manage their teams during degraded and normal operations.
Stakeholder / Customer
- Coordinate effectively with counterparts for the client.
- Communicate and report details of incidents to Executive Team and public relations staff if required.
Operational
- Recommend, approve and implement actions resulting from an incident/emergency or safety and operational investigations.
- Conduct daily and weekly reviews of service delivery performance and prepare reports and provide data.
- Plan and execute the best operational recovery with least impact during incident/accident.
Capability / People
- Ensure that all controllers and train crew are adequately trained, assessed and certified in their particular function and provide additional support and training if necessary.
- Perform and carry out other duties as instructed/directed by Operations Director. Manage all control room, and resources to ensure the team is performing to the required standards and in compliance with the procedures and instructions.
- Deputise for the Operations Director whenever required.

- Thorough understanding of tram operation controls such as tram supervision, tram regulation, incident handling and emergency management.

- High diploma of post-secondary education in a related discipline
- Design /engineering background.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a train operation in railway, aviation or urban traffic control setting.
- Both control room, train / tram operations and management experience is required and knowledge of safety critical operations will be assessed.
