Payments BA:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Payments Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing payment systems and processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Finance, and Compliance to ensure seamless, secure, and scalable payment solutions that align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and document current payment processes, systems, and workflows
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, define, and validate business and technical requirements
Design and document business process flows, use cases, and functional specifications
Support the implementation of new payment methods, gateways, and platforms
Provide post-go-live support including issue tracking, resolution coordination, and performance monitoring
Maintain comprehensive documentation including BRDs, FRDs, user guides, and training materials
Conduct gap analysis and recommend process improvements to enhance payment efficiency and reduce risk
Monitor and analyze payment performance metrics such as success rates, chargebacks, and fraud trends
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as UAEFTS, IPP, AML/KYC
Facilitate user acceptance testing, coordinate test cases, and validate results
Work closely with IT and QA teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of payment solutions
Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and technologies
Assist in reconciliation and settlement processes and support finance teams with reporting needs
Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure alignment and clarity
Preferred Skills
Ability to transpose the business requirement to system requirement
Able to understand Jira application in order to create Jira storyboards, wireframes, epics, and user stories
Ability to quickly grasp Agile techniques and Agile development
Ability to understand the business impacts across various backend systems
Ability to work with people at all levels in the organization
Shows judgment, self-confidence, and ability to work under tight schedules
Shows determination and ability to find solutions and develop effective courses of action
Has effective communication skills and able to provide solutions and workarounds to solve business problems
Experience with reconciliation and settlement processes
Understanding of digital wallets and real-time payments
Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar are a plus
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business, finance, IT, or a related field
Five or more years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the payments or fintech industry
Strong understanding of payment ecosystems such as Swift, UAE local payments, card networks, wallets, and cross-border payments
Experience with payment gateways, processors, and APIs
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies is a plus
Experience with reconciliation and settlement processes
